Civil Economic Development Zone

    Taiyuan Non- public Economic Development Zone is the first non- public economic demonstrative zone approved by Shanxi provincial government. The zone is located in the eastern Taiyuan proper, where is a golden area of Taiyuan section of Da-Yun economic belt. Its primary planning area is 4 square kilometers and its future planning area is 30 square kilometers. The Zone is 1.4 kilometers to Taiyuan railway station and 8 kilometers to Taiyuan airport. Expressway runs through the territory between south and north and a passenger station with an area of 67000 square meters has been put into operation, providing convenient transportation and communication.

    At present, it has completed the No. 437 branch exchange with capacity of 60, 000 programme- controlled telephone lines and a power distribution station with capacity of 110,000 KVA, which are put into operation. A spare water plant with capacity of 10, 000 tons has been built and put into operation. A system of centralized heating supply covering an area of 100, 000 square meters and a project for Donghuayuan housing covering an area of 200,000 square meters have been completed, too. The trunk road –Jingyuan road links all function blocks to an integrated area. The zone has set up an excellent service system in fields of industry, commerce, tax and bank, etc. Now, there are 60 enterprises settled here, of which 25 enterprises have been put into operation, with a total industrial and commercial income of over 2.0 billion yuan in 2003. The Development Zone has primarily established 4 specialized markets of Chaoyang Shoes Town, Vegetables Wholesale Market, Passenger Market and Physical Distribution and 4 productive enterprises of Dadi Group, Hongteng Joint Stock, Sanjin Pharmacy and Xinhe Machinery, showing a good development momentum. The Development Zone will follow the strategy of promoting the process of industrialization and urbanization of Taiyuan City, and will be committed to whole planning, breakthough, developing, and flourishing. It will provide preferential policy and favourable environment for investment and give full scope of its demonstrative and radiant role of economic development in non-public development zone, so as to turn the development zone into a base for non - public enterprises.
