Construction
To promote the urban functions and construct
a central city in the region, the government has made efforts
to improve the urban infrastructure construction and control
the comprehensive ecological environment. The urban burden
capability and its comprehensive service functions have been
improving over a wider area.
In 2002, a total investment for fixed
assets hit 14.760 billion yuan, including capital construction
of 5.229 billion yuan, investment for updating and improving
of 5.106 billion yuan, and real estate investment of 2.944
billion yuan.
A chess- board network pattern of urban
road communications has been formed, consisting of l0 roads
in east -west direction, 10 roads in south - - north directions
and two internal ring roads, Its trunk roads are linked to
the expressways outside the city and are attached by many
streets and branch roads inside the city. Its urban roads
are 1268 kilometers in length and its road areas are 16.41
million square meters, with per capita road area of 6.68 square
meters.
The urban infrastructure has been improved.
In 2002, a total of residents' power consumption in urban
and rural regions averaged 706 million KWH. The tap water
has been supplied for the 93.6 per cent of the total urban
residents. The output of coal gas was 860, 000 cubic meters
a day, with coal gas pipeline of 1475 kilometers in length.
The coal gas and liquefied gas have been supplied for 91.8
per cent of the total urban residents. The flood dyke of 128
kilometers long and wastewater drainage pipeline of 521 kilometers
long have been built in urban regions. It has established
6 sewage treatment plants with sewage treatment capacity of
348,000 tons a day.
It has 29 parks, with planting length
of 615.5 kilometers along roads, covering a green area of
5968 hectares, with urban green coverage rate of 33.7 per
cent. Per capita green area is 6. 67 square meters. |
