    Post and telecommunications facilities have been improved day by day. All enterprises of telecommunications compete to develop. In 2003, the annual amount of postal and telecommunications service totaled 3.689 billion yuan. Its local exchange capacity totaled 1.236 million lines, with 1.4846 million fixed-line telephone service subscribers, 145,050 mobile telephone service subscribers and 498, 500 Internet telephone service subscribers. The rate of holding telephones in urban and rural residents was 43 sets per one hundred persons.
