Labour and Employment

   The municipal government continues to strengthen tile construction of labour force market and to give full play to the role of information network on labour and employment, it does everything possible to improve tile business environment and to create more new jobs. Guide the laid - off workers to change their old employment ideas and help them attain employment and reemploymerit.

   At the end of last year, there were employees of 16191 million, including urban employees of 1.112 million and rural employees of 503，900. The laid-off workers from the State- owned and the Stale' s joint-stock enterprises were 44100. Among them 18500 laid-off workers have attained reemployment, with reemployment rate of 42 per cent. The registered unemployment rate in urban area was 3.50 per cent.
